Quick Overview / Summary
Introduction
We will now take a look at the tools and tutorials that can be taken utilized in building our passive income business. Here we will cover website builders, Ai assistants and the vast array of tutorials that are available to help us build a sustainable business.
1. Website Builders
Most online businesses begin with WordPress, which offers unmatched flexibility and a huge ecosystem of themes and plugins.
WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that allows users to create, manage, and modify websites without requiring extensive coding knowledge. It is an open-source platform, meaning it is free to use and can be customized extensively. Originally launched in 2003 as a blogging platform, WordPress has evolved into a versatile tool that powers over 40% of all websites globally. To maintain consistency of design and styling across a website a theme is used. A WordPress theme controls your site’s layout, styling, and functionality, making it a critical choice. A theme is a collection of template files, stylesheets and scripts that govern how your website functions and looks. Design elements such as typography, colors, headers, footers and page layouts that are defined and used to enhance the user experience are controlled within the theme and plugins used to support the theme and your desired user experience (often referred to as UX).
You may also come across the term Page Builder. A page builder is a visual design tool that lets you create web pages without writing code. Instead of working in the backend, you use a drag‑and‑drop interface to build your site in real time.
With a page builder you can:
-
Structure pages with sections, rows, and columns
-
Add content like text, images, buttons, galleries, and menus
-
Customize design elements such as colors, fonts, backgrounds, and animations
-
Use premade layouts to get a complete design in minutes
Page builders can be standalone plugins or built directly into themes. Because each element is pre‑coded, you can produce professional, responsive designs without needing technical expertise. They layer on top of WordPress, giving you flexibility and control — unlike proprietary website platforms (e.g., Squarespace or Wix) that lock you into their ecosystem and servers.
Wealthy Affiliate currently defaults to the free version of the GeneratePress theme. They may move towards another theme such as Blocksy in the near future, but you can choose any theme you prefer.
I personally use Divi 5 now (and Divi 4 previously) from Elegant Themes for my own sites and client projects. Divi is a premium option with no free version, it has a page builder built and it provides the styling flexibility that Gutenberg alone couldn’t deliver without stacking multiple plugins. Squarespace and Wix are alternatives worth mentioning, though they’re better suited for quick starts than scalable business builds.

Questions and Answers on Offers and Monetization
n
How do I know which monetization model is best for my brand?
n
It really comes down to your audience’s needs and your strengths. If you love teaching, try an online course. If you’re always asked for recommendations, go for affiliate marketing. Start with the model that feels easy and natural, and test from there to see what sticks.
n
I’m worried about annoying my audience with sales. How do I keep things balanced?
n
Focus on serving, not selling. Offer free value most of the time, and weave in your offers when they make sense. If you’re worried, ask your audience for feedback; often, people appreciate offers that are relevant and helpful.
n
How much should I charge for my digital products or services?
n
Pricing is a mix of audience ability, competitor research, and your own confidence. Start by looking at similar offers out there, and don’t be afraid to raise your price as you gain results and testimonials. You can always start small and increase as you learn what your audience values most. Sometimes, adding bonuses like bonus Q&A sessions increases perceived value without much extra work.
n
Do I need a big audience before I monetize?
n
Nope! Small audiences can be profitable if they’re engaged and you solve a real problem for them. Try offering something simple just for your “superfans” first. You’ll be surprised what’s possible even with a handful of loyal followers.
